Mad Men follows the lives of people in the advertising agency in America in the 1960s. The protagonist is Donald Draper and how he makes it big in New York even though he started out with nothing.

It sounds kind of boring because who would want to watch a show about advertising? But, trust me its amazing. It goes through the years and shows how things like the Civil Rights Movement, the moon landing, and the feminist movement affect the characters.

It is interesting to also see how people were back then and all the social restrictions placed on certain people. They make advertising extremely captivating and it leaves you thinking about how much work is actually put into each advertisement you see.

If you want a good historical show set in the 1960s this show is perfect! I highly recommend it. The only reason if lost a star is because it gets a bit boring towards the fifth season.
